Silicone Foam

Silicone foam is a type of high-tech foam that can be used to perform a variety of jobs. This type of foam is generally used for high performance jobs that must be safe and have the ability to resist or stand up to extreme levels of temperature. The actual material is extremely durable and condensed and features toxicity and smoke values and also low flame. When purchasing this type of material it can be made into any shape or design that is necessary and also comes in a variety of colors, thicknesses, and masses.

water softener

Silicone foam is extensively used in many different industries. Those who use the material in their designs use it because it is extremely safe and able to hold up to the toughest conditions and atmospheres. The foam can be used in a range of applications, all which require its security and resilience. Silicone foam can be used in defense flame and heat barriers, telecommunications enclosure gaskets, carpet underlay, vibration mounts, aerospace vibration damping, automotive seals and gaskets, and electronics seals and gaskets, just to name a few.

SOFTENER

Silicone foam is able to combine tremendous solidity set along with low density. This product is considered to be an open cell that is extremely light weight. It can be made from the formation of a layer of crystalline substance that is rooted in another layer of uncured silicone. The crystalline is crammed in tight and the silicone itself is cured. The crystals are then made to dissolve with a special solvent leaving the silicone after the process is completed.

Dishwasher - A Good Invention

The invention of the dishwasher was a first sign that problems with washing dishes is finally over. This was a good invention especially for those who didn't like dish washing. But do dishwashers really work as they should or we have to wash dishes after taking them out of the dishwasher?

water softener

The history of dishwasher starts in 1850 when the first hand dishwasher was invented. But modern dishwashers are more likely to look like the invention of Josephine Corchane from another century. This invention was only made by Josephine to rescue fragile dishes from not delicate hands of maids.

SOFTENER

The twenties of last century is the beginning of dishwashers that were using water directly from the waterworks, and in the middle of this century the electrical drying parts were used. And that was a big improvement and in no time dishwashers gained hearts of regular home owners.

How does the dishwasher work? The dirt that is on the dishes are being removed with usage of water in high temperature. The dishwasher, similar to hand dish washing, at the beginning is using water with detergent that helps remove the dirt from plates. And those detergents might be more effective cause their producers don't have to worry about damages of skin of person who is dish washing. And after the exact dish washing there is also a rinse part.

Each model of dishwasher has a different washing process - but all dishwashers are making our life better and easier. Thank you dishwasher inventors for giving us this wonderful appliance. Dishwashers work for us!

The "Green" In Little Green Apples

We often think of "green" inventions as those that utilize alternative energy or that reduce waste. However, green ideas include those that, on the surface, appear merely to provide a convenience or serve some aesthetic desire.

fleck water softener

How does a simple bread bag clip make the list of eco-inventions, for example? Since it replaced (decades ago) the twist tie, each consumes non-renewable materials. Yet, the clip, initially, was made from scrap material. It's evolution has led it into the familiar pit of more waste, however.

FLECK WATER

Then there is the Fehrway tractor, a farmyard tractor used to move bulky round bales in feedlots. Since there are myriad tractors available to do this job, inventing another one, on the surface, appears redundant and wasteful. However, it is constructed from old combines, and sells for about one-fifth to one-tenth of the cost of a new tractor. Additionally, its advantage as a real-wheel steering vehicle means that it can manoeuvre in smaller spaces, consuming less fuel than conventional big field tractors.

For me, one of the most exciting inventions is the size of a dime, and flushes down the sink when used. That hardly seems practical! But it is.

The Fruitwash sticker is designed to replace the current aggravatingly difficult to remove labels that are affixed to every piece of fruit that we purchase in grocery stores, from bananas (remember the Chiquita banana?) to apples. I'm sure Scott Amron's new invention looks equally irritating, since it is the same size as those other pieces of glue and paper that end up lodged under one's fingernails. Those scraps, no doubt, singularly are the greatest reason why many of us don't eat the recommended 8-10 servings of fruits and vegetables each day!

Amron, a New York electrical engineer, found that he, too, was frustrated by the waste and annoyance of those fruit stickers, but he set about to resolve the problem.

The result? Fruitwash stickers, when wetted under a faucet, break down and dissolve into an organic soap that removes the filth - the pesticides and fungicides that are used to treat the fruit during the growing season. Bacteria that have sneaked onto the apples or plums or other fruit similarly are washed away as the label morphs into soap. And, joy of joys, so, too is that thick layer of water-resistant wax plastered onto apples to maintain their fresh eye appeal.

The Fruitwash sticker may seem miniscule and insignificant, and may not even appear to be an environmentally friendly idea on the surface, but it is ideas such as Scott Amron's that, tiny fleck at a time, prove to be good for our environment.

Electric Water Softeners Will Cure Hard Water Ills

The "hard water in your house" symptoms are obvious, and it doesn't take a whole lot to realize that something needs to be done about the hard water issue that makes your life miserable. Knowing that there is a salt-free option with electric water softeners is not so cut and dry. Most people think about dealing with bags of salt when they think of water softeners. This article will review the soft water plagues and the benefits of using an electric water softener.
Here is a brief reminder of the symptoms of hard water ills:

water softener salt

• You have ugly white spots all over your silverware, glasses or dishes.
• There is lather when shampooing
• Your hair feels sticky and stiff after shampooing
• No orange rings left around sinks and tubs
• Fabrics are stiff, or you can see or feel soap residue after washing.
• Whites turn a dingy white color over time

WATER SOFTENER

For most people it is the sticky, stiff or lifeless hair that does it, there is nothing worse and more uncomfortable that your hair that just does not feel or look right. Add in to the mix the awful spots on the glassware that makes it look like you never wash your dishes and you have your obvious, hard water ills.

There are two ways to deal with this issue. One is to do nothing, and just deal with it. The other is to install a water softening system in your home. Traditionally, this means water will run through a tub filled with bags of salt, usually some kind of calcium sulfate mixture, that creates a chemical reaction with the minerals in the water that make it "hard." By the time it gets to you shower, dishwasher or washing machine, the hardness is gone, and you have a nice soft water that cleans everything, rinses the soap and scum off, and leaves your hair soft and luxurious.

There is another option to seriously consider, and that is the no salt, no mess, plug it in and leave it electric water softener systems.

Here is how an electric water softener system works:

• A electric coil is placed around the water pipes.
• Electric pulses (ions) are then sent through the pipes every which way.
• These electric ions react with the hard minerals, changing them into soft crystals,
• These crystals stay in solution, do not separate, leaving the water to do its thing
• You do not get the chemical reaction between the hard minerals and the water, which is what makes the water soap unfriendly.

With this system, once it is installed, it does its thing, using a very low voltage. You never have to change bags of salt, you do not have to clean the pipes of water scum, and you do not even need a plumber to install it! This is a system anyone in need of a soft water system should truly explore.

Plumbing Tip: Water Softeners Worth The Cost

A water softener provides water that is better for your hair and skin and does not leave water deposits on your shower or bathtub. But just how does a water-softening system work and why can it be an important part of your plumbing system?

water softener powder

Water softeners replace the ions in water. Resin, a petroleum industry product, attracts hard ions, such as calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium. Resin is negatively charged and the hard ions are positively charged. A water softener uses resin to replace the hard ions with sodium ions which have a much less positive charge. Occurring billions and billions of times during a softening cycle, the ion-replacement process causes much softer water.

WATER SOFTENER

Because the resin can wear out, allowing the hard ions to continue flowing in the house's water system, a brine system is used to regenerate the resin. A brine solution, rich in sodium or potassium salt, helps regenerate the resin and draws the hard ions to it, making the resin able to return to its full potency.

As the home water system and the brine system both flow downward through the softener, the softener needs to regenerate periodically to bring the brine back to the top so it can continue to work. How frequently the system must regenerate and how much salt is needed depends on the size and strength of the system. Oftentimes, a chemical analysis of the home's water is performed to determine the regeneration and salt requirements. Regeneration normally ranges from every one to seven days. It consists of five steps: service, fill, brine rinse, backwash and fast rinse.

When the water softener's valve is in the 'Service' position, water enters the system, the hard water is ionized as it passes over the resin, and the soft water is cycled through the home for use.

When calcium is not replaced - when a water softener is not used - it can leave spots on tubs, showers and sinks. When calcium builds up, it can limit the effectiveness of cleaners. Rings around bathtubs, spots on washed glasses, dingy clothes, clothes wearing out quickly and loss of water-heating efficiency are all downsides of hard-water use. Since the 1950s, water softeners have become more common in households and now an estimated 10 million homes have water softeners.

The four major components of a water-softening system are: the controller, brine system, and the mineral and brine tanks. The brine tank can also be called the salt-storage system as that is where salt for the system is kept. A float is located in the brine tank to keep the system from overflowing.

You may have a problem requiring plumbing assistance if you have a discharge of water at the source to the water-softening system or an outside source of water in the brine tank. Also note that if the water line in the brine tank is not at 2 inches or the motor is energized while the system is in service that also may mean plumbing help is required.

Also, if the fill cycle does not finish within eight to 12 minutes that is also a sign that the system should be checked.

Water Softeners - The Source of Life

Water is the source of Life, as we all know, and we cannot live without it. Until we don't have water, we are not really aware of how necessary it is, and in how many ways we use it. We take water for granted, and, even more to the point, we take the quality of our water for granted. Every water supply is different. Water can be more or less contaminated, may contain more or less minerals, and may have particular additives as a result of the treatment process.

water softener powder

If you live in an area where the water has high mineral content, that water is said to be 'hard'. If this is the case you may consider installing a water softener. The minerals found in hard water accumulate inside the pipes which carry it, change its flavor, and produce different results with, for example, limited lathering of soap or shampoo. There may also be noticeable residue left behind after using hard water, in the form of soap scum or spots on washed glassware.

WATER SOFTENER

Water softeners work by reducing the concentration of hardening metals. Different softening methods include the use of salt crystals, no-salt filters, nano technology, and magnetic filters, to produce a process called ion exchange, in which the heavy ions of calcium and magnesium are replaced by lighter sodium or potassium ions.

The best water softener for each home is the one that adapts to the specific needs. If the residents of the home are on a low-salt diet or have high blood pressure, using a salt filter is not recommended. Salt-free water softeners are also best if the damage to pipes in the home is already advanced, because it helps to de-scale the pipes. Magnetic water softeners work best in apartments and small homes where there is insufficient room to install a large filter.

Hard water is not dangerous. Remember, however, that water softeners do not purify the water of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other contaminants which can be harmful if consumed. Use a water filter for this purification.

Ants in My Coffee

This morning I pulled a coffee cup out of the very back of my cabinet drawer. There were many cups in front of the one I chose, but I wanted just the right size and thickness. You see, I like thin cups, thin feeling plates and silverware. Weird I know, but it is what it is. Now on to the coffee.

flecktarn bdu

I put the cup on the counter and proceeded to pour in my cream as my fresh brewed Costa Rican Roast filled my senses with a promise to wake me up at first sip.

FLECK

As I did this, I noticed some small black flecks in the bottom of my cup. My first response was to think the flecks were ants. I quickly stopped pouring my cream and peered into my cup with dismay.

Yuck, ants in my cup? How could that be? I tilted the cup to see what insect had the nerve to mess with my morning ritual. Much to my surprise there were no ants or any other insect in my cup, only small black flecks of ceramic paint embedded in the bottom and covered with glaze. I sighed with great relief knowing there were no ants in my house or my coffee.

Once my cup was filled with coffee I began to think a little bit deeper about my non-existent ants. I pondered how I so often immediately think of the worst case scenario without even pausing to consider another possibility.

The flecks in my cup looked like ants; therefore, they must be ants. In fact, I almost poured the cream out before I decided to take a closer look. If I had done so, I would have wasted some good cream and delayed my first drink (which is always the best) by having to start the process one more time.

What started out as a simple routine cup of morning java became an instant lesson on perspective. I learned not to jump to conclusions based on past experiences without finding out if what I perceive in any given situation or about another person is actually what is. Better to give the benefit of the doubt.

If ants can be flecks of artistic expression in an old coffee cup, how much more can other things and people in our lives be if only we choose to look a little deeper?

Simply put, I chose to perceive something formed in my lovely ceramic cup as an artistic expression to be an evil invasion rather than a good thing created to bring beauty. In a sense, I called good evil.

We, as Christians, often look at what we consider as quirky traits in others and because of our own past experiences we see ants and not the unique artistic expression of Christ in their makeup. And when we perceive flecks and specks to be ants, it is easy to just pour out the cream and start all over with someone else. After all, our new relationships and situations won't have any ants, specks or flecks in their cups. Right! Sure! If only this were true, grass would actually be greener on the other side.

Until flecks are really ants and the grass is actually greener on the other side, join me in not being quick to jump to conclusions or judge prematurely. Join me in looking a little deeper before taking the giant leap to discard or do away with all that has been poured into a relationship or situation in just because a fleck resembles an ant. Look a little deeper with an expectation to see artistic beauty. When you do, drink deeply and you will be awakened to a whole new perspective...a perspective of how mercy triumphs over judgment...of how life is better with a few flecks in it.

A Comfortable Home With a WaterBoss Water Softener

Providing your home with a clean, soft, and consistent water supply is essential to the smooth operations of daily life. A full home water treatment system can easily be achieved when your purchase a WaterBoss Water Softener.

water softener reviews

With a compact design, a WaterBoss liquid softener can fit well into just about any home setting. This is more than just softener. It is actually a water treatment system due to its multiple processing capabilities. It can save you space, time, and money, making it one of the best investments you can make in creating the home you and your family deserve.

WATER SOFTENER

The substance enters the softener tank through a filtered, built in, and self cleaning unit that is capable of removing the dirt and sediment from source water before it ever makes it to your home. If you operate from a well, it removes the dirt that arises from your well or any sediment and debris from your pipes. For city dwellers, it can provide additional assurances that the city fluid that feeds your home is as clean as possible. Traditional water softeners require a separate cartridge filter.

These filters are an additional expense that must be added to the standard water softener to ensure that water is cleaned prior to entering the softening unit. The filters periodically need to be replaced, meaning there is on-going expense, time, and effort required. The WaterBoss filtration unit requires no extra filters, and eliminates the time, energy and additional expense associated with the standard filter cartridge that must be purchased with a traditional water softener.

WaterBoss models also remove the most common minerals and chemicals from your home's water, including the chemicals used to clean fluid in water treatment plants. Chlorine is one of the most common of these chemicals, and is often the source of poor tasting liquid in city homes. By using a WaterBoss water softener, you can achieve soft water for your home, protecting your pipes, shower, tub, sinks, toilet, and washing machine from the damages that can be caused from hard fluid. You make the water in which you bathe better for your skin and hair. You significantly improve the quality of your tap water for cooking, cleaning, and essentially achieve purified drinking liquid straight from the tap, without the use of additional filtration gadgets.

A Review of Popular Water Softener Products

With so many types and brands of water softeners to choose from, how does a consumer decide what is right for their needs? How does one compare water softeners and find the one that will work the best for them? When it comes to buying water softeners, being an educated consumer is the best policy. Explore different types and manufacturers. Compare prices. Other things to consider are what type of environment the water softener will be set up in, size, installation, construction of the unit, convenience, and water softener rating which indicates the amount of minerals that can be removed before the unit needs to be recharged.

Culligan services residential customers, offering purchase and rental options for their water softeners. They also offer a salt delivery service with the purchase of a water softener. Culligan is favored for its durability, but some have trouble with salt refills and strength of some of the components. Culligan is also said to be good at removing iron from the water supply.

Kenmore, in addition to being known for its air filtration and other household appliances, offers a range of water softeners, from the very basic to the heavy-duty models. The Kenmore systems also offer extras like the ability to filter out larger particles and added settings that make the units more efficient. Kenmore contends that the cost of everyday household upkeep can be cut in half with the use of a water softener system.

General Electric, or GE, founded by none other than Thomas Edison, offers a diverse line of products, including water softeners. The business is run on the principles, ""imagine, solve, build, and lead."" GE offers water softeners small enough to accommodate a single-person household all the way up to a unit that will serve a household of four or more people. The GE water softeners include a technology called SmartSoft, which works through a low-capacity transformer to save energy, minimize salt loss, and gauge water softening needs.

There are numerous water softener vendors out there who sell both ionic exchange and magnetic water softening systems. To find the best water softeners is a daunting task, but a good start might be to visit your local hardware store. You can also get information from people around you such as neighbors or coworkers.

Carbon Footprints and Cleaning Green

Few businesses these days are as quickly lucrative or as easy to start as a janitorial cleaning company. Since the primary product your company sells is a little elbow grease mixed with varying parts of entrepreneurship and a bit of marketing, this is one of the more economically sound businesses to start, requiring a minimum capital investment. What's more, it's one of the few companies you can begin by going totally green.

fleck 5600 water softener

Because these days knowing your carbon footprint is just as important as knowing your credit rating, green cleaning is not only all the rage, it's good business. Companies are hiring janitorial cleaners based on how green their services are.

FLECK

On the other hand, what if you already own a traditional janitorial and commercial cleaning service, but would like to go green. Well, here are some helpful tips to help your convert your clients as well as your staff.

Go green, one building at a time. Choose a client concerned with their carbon footprint and implement your green program with them first. Don't try to roll out all your clients at once-too chaotic. Besides, you need a flagship, and a chance to work out any bugs in your processes. There's no better feather in your cap than a great testimonial given by a happy client.

Show your commitment to growing green. Many companies are wearing the green simply as a marketing tool. Unfortunately, flash without substance never works, so it's important to make a complete commitment to change the culture of your business, inside as well as outside. Your janitorial cleaning company must be green in everything it does, down to using glassware instead of Styrofoam cups in the kitchen.

Investigate and evaluate new products and equipment. There's a myriad of green products out there. Even grocery stores now make their own. But which ones to buy? One of the fun things of going green is the opportunity to compare products. Buy them, test them, and decide for yourself which ones work the best. You can even have a little fun with this by making a video about this process, and then posting it on your company's website.

Find new ways to clean. Changing products is a step in the right direction, but it's not enough. You also have to change the way you clean. Microfiber must replace feather dusters. HEPA filter bags must replace leaky canisters in vacuum cleaners. Get your employees involved and find creative ways to clean green in process and well as product.

Go green and in the end your customers will thank you, your employees will thank you, and you'll have the satisfaction of watching your carbon footprint become a baby step.

Water Softener Salt - Finding the Right Type For Your Needs

There are different types of water softener salt that you can purchase. The three most commonly used types are evaporated, rock and solar salts. The way your system performs is dependent on the type that you use. There is not one that is typically recommended over another for general usage. The variables in your situation will come in to play, such as the type of unit you have, the hardness of your water and the availability in your area.

water softener

Evaporated salts (also called refined salts) are some of the purest grades available. They are usually crystallized and purified from brine. This is done in a production plant similar to the type that processes table salts. Rock salts (also known as halite) are taken from underground by a mining process. There are different mining methods used, but essentially, the idea is to blast away and then remove the mineral deposits embedded within the layers of the earth. Solar salts (or sea salts) are taken from condensers. These are large ponds of very concentrated seawater, which is allowed to evaporate, leaving behind the salts that are then washed and thoroughly dried. After processing, any of these can be used as water softener salt.

SOFTENER

A consideration in choosing the right type for your system is the solubility. Solubility is the rate in which something dissolves. In the case of a softening system, the dissolution rate can have a large impact on not only how well your water is treated, but also how long your system will last. Evaporated water softener salt is going to be a bit more expensive than the other choices because of the solubility. This may be the best choice for the hardest levels. Solar salts have a decent solubility and are mid-range on the pricing scale. Rock salt is going to be the least expensive of the three options, but keep in mind that it also has the least solubility, which means it may be harder on your system.

If you are unsure of the kind of water softener salt you need, you can run a test at home with a total hardness testing kit. The minerals present determine the hardness. The more mineral content, such as magnesium, calcium and a variety of other, the harder your water will be. This can be hard on your plumbing as it can cause build up and corrosion of piping. It can also be hard on surface areas since the minerals are likely to cause a film or build-up that can only be removed with harsh cleansers and a good amount of scrubbing.

You should always read the manufacturer's directions for your particular unit to see what type of water softener salt they recommend. If in doubt, you can also contact the company you originally purchased your unit from. They may be aware of the conditions pertaining to your area or environment and they can sometimes make recommendations that are not present in the unit's manual.

Solution for Infants

SOFTENER

In most of the cases, parents become anxious and confused when they find their infants get sick. It happens typically as because infants can not tell or express where and at what point they are not feeling well. To diagnose whether your infant is suffering from constipation problem, you should notice whether their stool pattern has got changed from soft and moist to hard and dry. In most of the cases, infants are treated with stool softener syrup for their constipation relief.

In that case, parents should depend on all-natural based colon cleanser or softener, so that any possible side effects could be avoided. If an infant is offered with chemical based treatment, it is likely that the infant will acquire negative side effects. However, a long term constipation relief certainly depends on proper and timely diet. In most of the cases, it occurs due to lack of water and fiber.

Solution during Pregnancy

During pregnancy, woman's health becomes fragile and weak. Many women actually suffer from constipation problem during this time, even those who have never been suffered from this problem before in her lifetime. It mainly occurs due to changes in dietary pattern, hormonal changes and pressure of the developing baby. However, not all constipation relief is suitable for her health during that time. Rather, it is recommended that you should increase your daily fiber intake such as fruits, cereals, green vegetables, and wholegrain bread. You need to drink plenty of waters or you may also drink hi-fiber drink. It is not true that pregnant women should sleep all the time or sit ideally.

Truly, during pregnancy exercise is not a easy job to do, but it helps to keep you fit and healthy. Needless to say, it helps to maintain a healthy digestive system as well. Even if you manage time for walking, it will help you a lot and offer you relief from many complications including constipation and other digestive problems.

Solution for Immediate Relief

Not always we are looking for an immediate relief; however, if the problem persists for too long time, it may require an immediate attention. In practice, chronic constipation problem may affect our social, personal, and professional life quite significantly. But, we should be careful while choosing our laxatives. Most of the chemical based laxatives have side effects to our health. So, it is always advisable that you should only depend on natural laxatives or laxatives made up of natural ingredients. However, switching over diet rich with hi-fiber content and plenty of water with regular exercise can only do the wonder, especially in chronic cases.

Effect of Natural Cure

Almost every one of us agrees that whenever the question comes about constipation, using natural substances is the best solution ever. But not all of us are too inclined over the using of natural remedies for constipation. This is mainly due to their complex and difficult mode of administration compared to the ready made simple swallowing laxatives. In practice, natural remedies are perfect and best solution for constipation. But most of them consume a great amount of time till you prepare them for administering. There are few effective laxatives and colon cleansers available in the market that have the potential to offer you an effective solution for constipation cure and also provide support from future hazards.

Maintenance Free Water Softeners - Review

If you are looking for a water softener that is maintenance free then you're in luck because today's water softeners no longer need tedious and time-consuming maintenance. In the past salt-based water softeners had to be refilled with pounds of salt on a regular basis. Today, there are new breeds of softeners for water that no longer need salt because they employ the use of carbon in converting hard water into soft.

water softener resin

These maintenance free softeners do not need regular brine tank refilling; thereby giving the utmost convenience. On top of that, they are also more cost-effective compared to the conventional salt-based types that regularly require a salt reload from time to time.

WATER SOFTENER

There are still numerous other benefits; such as the resulting water produced by the system, it's more nutritious than the ones being softened by the salt-based softeners. The conventional type also removes magnesium and calcium during the process; as a way of protecting the water lines.

However, with the carbon filtration type, the softener will restructure these minerals and convert them instead into healthful minerals. The result is a clean potable water that is safe to drink and friendly for your home plumbing system. Hence, these water softener maintenance free systems provide much better alternatives to getting soft water for the household in order to enjoy its numerous benefits.

Always remember that having hard water that comes out of your faucet may not be harmful for your health, but it can be quite annoying since it will produce a mineral build-up in the waterline that eventually clogs your water system; thereby causing you plumbing problems later. That is why if you suspect that your tap water is hard after conducting a quality check on your tap water then you must immediately do something about it by using a water softener to transform the hard water into soft..

In any case, people today have more flexibility on their choices when it comes to getting soft water for their house; as a result of having newer types of water filtration systems that make it much easier, in converting hard water to soft. Just bear in mind that whatever type of purification system that you are planning to use, you must check your waters mineral content first in order to truly confirm that you need to get one of these maintenance free softeners for your home.

Electronic Water Softeners

Well if you are surprised with the popularity of electric water softeners you don't need to be as they are gaining more and more popularity with every passing day thanks to the advantages they provide to their consumers. It is the use of technology that has made them more popular and preferable as compared to traditional salt based water softeners. The use of electromagnetic waves instead of salts allows them to perform their work amazingly and accurately. Also these are the devices that don't require maintenance and you will not have to bear continuous salt which is something for sure to release a lot of pressure from your pocket.

water softener powder

They are the type of water softeners that usually comes with a warranty of 5 to 20 years and does not require as much maintenance as you need to give to other traditional softeners. All you need to do is to get them installed and they are all set to operate.

WATER SOFTENER

There are also many magnetic type softeners which are available in the market today. What makes them so popular is their ability of being flow independent. With magnetic type softeners you needed to make sure that the water lines are refitted and the flow of the water is slow enough just to make sure that the ions are regularly mixed up.

This however is not the case with the electric type water softeners. They only get installed at one particular portion of the pipe which ensures that you will not have to maintain or refit your water pipe lines. This procedure is a lot more less costly compared to their magnetic counterparts.

Technology has really advanced as there are now also electric water softeners that are available in the market which are even programmed to send varying electromagnetic pulses, which play an important role to soften the existing balance in your water pipes.

They are programmed to work such as they will travel through your pipes and will balance the amount of precipitates that needs to be there in your water. They indeed make sure you get a great and a whole lot more efficient water flow in your whole water pipe system.

You may hesitate to get them installed because of the fear that they might effect other electromagnetic appliances in your home but don't worry they don't do so as they only operate in a very limited and specified range just to ensure this doesn't happen.

Green, industrial cleaning agents are cost effective. Because products come in concentrate, you naturally dilute before using. This saves money in numerous ways: storage space for containers, less trips to buy supplies, and reduced shipping costs for products ordered through green catalogs and supply houses. Also, no more costly expense to clean up toxic spills. Remember, they put baking soda in cakes.

FLECK

Using green products pare down the amount of chemicals in the workplace, reducing employee illnesses from exposure to toxic fumes and chemicals. Everyone just feels better, shows up to work, and does their job. No more lost productivity because of absenteeism or stressed out employees who have to cover for sick co-workers.

Cleaning green is good for the environment. If using harsh chemicals is ruining the health of your employees and your clients, just think what it's doing to the fishies...the trees, the rivers, and the wild blueberries you just ate which were unfortunately watered by acid rain.

Okay, so there are actually four good reasons to go green when you clean. Harsh chemicals leave a toxic residue on surfaces and in their air. Using green products shows your employees and your clients that your care about their families by making the workplace safer for their children and pregnant women.

So, do the right thing and go green.

How Long Will My New Epoxy Floor Take to Install?

So you've decided you want to install a do-it-yourself epoxy kits, but you don't know what kind of time investment is required to get the job done properly? Here's a quick rundown of how these kits allow for the easiest application possible, leaving you with a one-day project you can take pride in.

fleck 5600 water softener

With an all-in-one kit that will be delivered right to your door, you will have all the tools necessary to tackle your garage floor project without the worry of running out of supplies or needing additional gear. A flooring prep will help prepare the surface to securely bond with the epoxy, and can be quickly mixed and applied to remove excess mortar from the floor so that it's primed and ready for application. You merely scrub away the debris and wait for the surface to dry, so you can move onto your next step within a couple of hours.

FLECK

To apply the flooring, you begin by mixing the two included packages together until they create a smooth, homogenous blend of epoxy. Once the two parts are mixed you will have up to a half an hour of time to apply the epoxy to the surface of the concrete using a supplied roller, however, in most cases it should only take around ten to fifteen minutes to apply the flooring per kit. From there, it's a simple matter of applying the anti-skid fleck to the still-wet surface using a simple underhand toss to broadcast it in a uniform manner. The fleck will then sink into the wet epoxy coating, levelling itself with the rest of the garage floor.

After applying the fleck, you will have a 24-hour wait until the epoxy has thoroughly dried and you can get back to work in your garage. This wait ensures that the garage floor epoxy achieves maximum adhesion with the concrete beneath, protecting it from wear while giving you an exceptional surface to work on for years to come. A one-day project-it's that simple!

What is Soft Water?

Soft water is basically free of dissolved calcium or magnesium. Only a small percentage of homes are supplied with naturally soft water. However, since naturally soft water usually has not been neutralized by passing through mineral layers in the ground, it can be quite corrosive.

softener salt

Softening water mechanically, such as with a home water softener, does not make it corrosive, however. Since calcium and magnesium are not present in soft water, no adverse reaction with soaps and detergents is allowed to occur.

SOFTENER

The result is the virtual elimination of soap scum and the corresponding reduction in time spent cleaning. Hair and skin is allowed to "breathe" more readily.

And the School of Consumer & Family Sciences at Purdue University conducted a study which proved that the life of clothing and household textiles was prolonged up to 15 percent when they were washed in conditioned water.

Soap usage can be significantly reduced with soft water. Since the water is already soft, the cleaning agents do not have any hardness minerals to react with and overcome and lather more readily and work more effectively.

In fact, a large proportion of the ingredients in most soaps and detergents consist of chemical "water softeners" added to stop the reaction between the detergent and the hardness minerals present in most water (the reaction that forms a sticky residue or soap curd).

Since such chemicals are not necessary for cleaning with soft water, less soap is required. Soft water households usually experience considerable savings on laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, bath soap, hand soap, shampoo and many other cleaning products.

Since soft water contains no scale forming minerals, it leaves the inside of plumbing and water-using appliances free of solidified rock.

Appliances operate more efficiently and last longer when using soft water, and of course soft water does not cause any of those unpleasant hard water stains.

Epoxy Technical Hierarchy

I have been in the industrial floor coatings manufacturing, and application business for over 24 years. Over the past two decades I have witnessed a company that specializes in formulating floor coatings using a 100% solids resin based epoxy to be used in resurfacing industrial, commercial and residential concrete floors with an advanced "work time" epoxy formula that can be applied just like "Floor Paint".

Floor Paint & Floor Coating-An Image Rich Technical Analysis for Concrete Floor Protection

FLECK WATER

Since the inception of Epoxy Resin in 1936 by Dr. Pierre Castan of Switzerland and Dr. S.O. Greenlee of the United States, there have been thousands of combinations of Epoxy formulations for many different industries. Here are some of the leading industries that currently use Epoxy: Floor Paints and coatings, adhesives, industrial tooling and composites, electrical systems and electronics, consumer and marine applications, aerospace applications, art, and wind and energy applications. This article will be focusing on the floor paints and coatings industry, and what the best product is for its application. Although there are many choices one can make when deciding which type of Epoxy to apply, one must understand that there is a clear and definite technical hierarchy. Below is a chart that ranks Epoxy for effectiveness.

Epoxy's Technical Hierarchy

Advantages

100% Solids Epoxy (Resin base, Industrial Grade) epoxy floor paint floor coating is far superior to all other concrete floor paints, floor sealers and floor stains available today. 100% Solids Epoxy was developed as a "High performance protective floor coating" to protect concrete floor surfaces from high traffic volume of hilos (tires/steel forks )constant wear and tear to the concrete floors surface.

Along with wear and tear to concrete floor surfaces, mechanical machines and equipment also leak oils and fluids. Without proper concrete floor protection, such as the recommended 100% Solids Epoxy, these oils and fluids will be absorbed through the concrete and into the soil beneath, resulting in contamination and potential deterioration to the floor surface. Consequently, these oils and fluids in the soil can potentially lead to environmental concerns in the future.

Concrete surfaces are very porous and soft compared to the 100% Solids Epoxy floor paint. That being said, imagine the concrete surface acting as a big "sponge" that holds and retains water, fluids, dirt, oil, grease, dust, mold and other substances that absorb into a porous surface. Unprotected concrete floor surfaces will yield a decreased life span. 100% Solids Epoxy is a permanent solution to the problems listed above. The following are other very important advantages when using 100% Solids Epoxy floor paint:

Surface restoration and repair Increased light reflectivity Resists hot tire marks Chemical resistant Abrasion resistant Industrial grade Easy to clean Slip resistant Salt resistant Oil resistant Self leveling High gloss Aesthetics

CONCRETE SURFACE PREPARATION

Concrete Floor surface preparation For New or Old Concrete Floor surfaces must be clean contaminate free and profiled (etched) for proper bonding/adhesion of 100% solids epoxy floor paint & floor coating.

NEW CONCRETE FLOORS:

Contaminate free concrete floors must be mechanically surface profiled by either a diamond grinder or a shot blaster or chemically etched with a recommended 4 to 1 part ratio acid base or "Inorganic Acid" concrete cleaner and etcher.

OLD CONCRETE FLOORS:

(1). Oil soaked, dirty, greasy, spalled, or cracked concrete floors must be degreased cleaned by a heavy concentrated degreaser followed by rinse bath. Repeat until satisfied.

(2). Fill all cracks with recommended cementitious cracker filler and/or any non-silicone base epoxy, polyurethane joint sealant that is paintable.

(3). Profile surface by recommended Mechanical method or chemical etch method.

100% Solids Epoxy Resin Base Industrial Grade is the only choice for concrete floor protection to paint your garage, shop, and basement or for any indoor concrete floor surface that you desire.

See below: List of all other products available for concrete floors in today's market, starting with the best product at the top of the list which is (100% Solids Epoxy) followed by their rating of performance levels from wear and tear to mil thickness and chemical resistance.

Health Benefits of Using Salt Free Water Softeners

Heart diseases and other heart related problems are on a steady uphill climb on hospital statistics. In the US alone, it is the most common cause of heart attack and even death. To counter these effects, conscious efforts are made to significantly reduce sugar intake among people. This however is made difficult by the fact that salt is the most common food ingredient used and doing away with it will greatly affect the taste of the food we eat.

water softener

Salt contents are usually very high on junk foods, processed foods, and those sold at the fast foods and restaurants. Only about a quarter of our salt consumption we get at home. So if you are looking to cut down on your salt consumption and start living a healthy life, start at home. The food you eat, and the water you drink.

SOFTENER

Most homes nowadays are using water filtration to alleviate problems caused by hard water. Hard water is the term used to describe water from the community water reservoir which is being distributed to each household in the area. Since more effort is given to kill bacteria and germs and other harmful substances in the water by using chlorine, less attention is given on the levels of calcium and magnesium in the water content. Most often than not, these substances do not create health problems, these however causes increased maintenance expenditures at home as they are the primary cause of calcium crystal deposits clogging the plumbing system of the house, and even soap scum that takes a lot of effort to clean up add to that the potential slipping hazard it could bring in the bathroom and kitchen floors.

Water softening systems are always a welcome addition to the household; they eliminate the effects of this hard water by removing calcium and magnesium and replacing them with sodium and potassium. But then again, salt is the common name of sodium chloride, the very result of using water softeners. If you are currently using water softeners and is looking to maximize the benefits that you can get out of it, you might want to try using salt free water softeners. Replacing your current softener with a salt free one, will only take a few minutes; this is usually done by replacing sodium as the main ingredient with potassium that equally as effective with lesser known side effects.

The best salt free water softeners can completely eliminate salt content from the water you drink. This will give a major boost to your conscious effort to lessen salt in your diet. By drinking salt free water, you will be one step farther from the risk of developing hypertension and other heart diseases.

Check out the salt free water softener reviews and see how well it has affected others, and how widely used it became. Millions of users worldwide are happy with the benefits they get from salt free water softeners, and so can you. Salt free water softener systems are the way to go. Have one installed at home and experience the benefits only soft and salt free water can bring.

Candle Making Soy Wax Manufacturers

Candles had been made from tallow for centuries. Beeswax candles were also available, but the beeswax was much more expensive. Paraffin wax was patented in 1876. It wasn't until the late 20th century, however, that wax was made from soybean oil.

At present, there are a limited number of soy wax primary manufacturers. This article will focus on two: SoyaWax International, Inc., and Elevance Renewable Sciences, Inc.

SOFTENER

Michael Richardson, patent-holder for the process of making soy wax, runs a company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa called SoyaWax International. It sells two soybean wax blends:

The first, Phytowax C-1, has a melting point of 130 F (54.4 C); it is formulated to adhere to the sides of containers. The second product, Phytowax PV-1, shrinks just enough so that it can be easily removed from votive molds. Its melting point is 155 F (68.3 C).

Cargill, who purchased the intellectual rights to Richardson's patent, started a company called Elevance Renewable Sciences, which is headquartered in Bolingbrook, Illinois. They sell soybean wax and soybean wax blends using the brandname "Nature Wax." Elevance sell their waxes both domestically and internationally. In the following list of products, add "BK" suffix after the product number would indicate that the product is supplied as a "block;" adding a "CT" suffix would indicate cut or flaked product:

13C2000 NatureWax C-1 Container Wax (25054) is a soy blend which is to be used for container candles. It has a melting point of 124-130 F (51.1-54.4 C) This product is available internationally.

13C1120 NatureWax C-3 also has a melting point of 124-130 F (51.1-54.4 C) This mix of hydrogenated vegetable glycerides with alpha-monoglycerides and sorbitan tristearate is formulated to be used in container candles and as a softener for pillar candles. This product is also available for international delivery.

Elevance sells five soy base stocks with different melting points. These are formulated for container candles and can also be used as a softener for pillar candles.

13C1040- NatureWax 97MP Soy Base Stock; its melting point is 97 F (36.1 C)

13C1400 - NatureWax S-113 Soy Base Stock; its melting point is 113 F (45 C)

13C1510 - NatureWax S-118 Soy Base Stock; its melting point is 118 F (47.8 C)

13C1590 - NatureWax S-128 Soy Base Stock; its melting point is 128 F (53.3 C)

13C1090 - NatureWax S-130 Soy Base Stock; its melting point is 130 F (54.4 C)

Elevance sells three base stocks which can be used as hardeners or as fragrance stabilizers, though their main intended use is for coating boxes. All three have melting points of 155 F (68.3 C)

12C1020 - NatureWax 155 MP Soy Base Stock

12C1420 - NatureWax X-155 Base Stock blend

12C1430 - NatureWax X-155 Base Stock 155 MP w/ MS (soy blend with Dimethylpolysiloxane)

Elevance also supplies Palm and Soy/Cotton base stocks.

This article has focused on two of the primary manufacturing companies of soybean wax. There are a variety of other soy wax manufacturing companies who do not do primary manufacturing. That is they do not extract the oil from the soybean. Instead they would start with soybean wax as a raw material to make their own wax blends.

Epoxy Garage Floor Paint Is a Home Mechanic's Best Friend

For home mechanics that use their garage as a regular work space, epoxy garage floor paint is a great investment to keep their environment safe, clean, and easy to function in. With epoxy floor paint, a simple day's work can translate into years of high-performance flooring, adding value to your property while protecting your concrete surface at the same time.

fleck water softener

In terms of safety, by choosing light colored epoxy paint, the shiny surface of a finished garage floor will provide up to 300 percent more reflectivity than regular flooring. This means a brighter work area, and the ability to light the area without having to resort to high powered, energy draining industrial lighting. In addition, the fleck that comes in an epoxy floor kit provides a non-skid surface for workers as they move between projects, ensuring that no slips or falls will occur on a wet floor.

FLECK

For cleanliness, epoxy garage floor paints are second to none, as their solid, non-porous surface deflects staining and spillage from even the toughest liquids. From oils and paints, to any car-related fluids, most clean-ups will take only the swipe of a cloth to make the surface as good as new. In addition, regarding regular upkeep and maintenance, these epoxy floors are also easy to care for, needing only a regular mopping or sweeping to keep grit and dirt from wearing against the finish.

Lastly, when looking for a high-performance space that will be easy to function in, epoxy garage floor paint outshines its competitors because of its no-fuss application process and exceptional durability. After the floor finish has dried for the recommended amount of time after application, home mechanics can get started right away enjoying their pristine new work environment secure in the knowledge that their garage floor will be able to withstand the wear and tear of regular use. They can then continue to work with confidence, focusing on their projects instead of on protecting their floors from unanticipated damage and staining.

The Overload Principle For Fitness - How Hard Should You Work Out?

The Principle of Overload asserts that you must gradually and systematically increase your fitness training load. Overloading causes changes within your muscles as a direct result of the type of training you perform. Because your body gets used to working out at a particular level, you must progressively increase your work load in order to continue to improve.

fleck water softener

To apply the Principle of Overload to fitness programs, you can adjust some combination of intensity (how hard), frequency (how often), duration (how long), recovery (how much rest), and volume (total work) to achieve your desired results. It is most important that you gradually increase your work load with a regimen of training activities that targets your goals.

FLECK WATER

Training at an intensity that varies between 60%-100% of your maximum effort is a guideline for how hard to work. Planned training cycles that include light, moderate, and heavy periods offer variation within an adequate range of intensity. Periodically testing your maximum efforts provides a basis for how much and in which ways you should increase training loads.

For cardio workouts, how hard you work is based on your maximum predicted heart rate. The Karvonen formula or a calculator can estimate your target heart rate zone in beats per minute. As your body adapts to training at any particular level, you will have to work harder to stay within the zone. You can pick up your pace, increase distance or time, or decrease rest time between training bouts in order to continue to make gains.

For strength, lift weights at 60-100% of your single maximum repetition (1 RM) for specific lifts (e.g., squat, bench press). However, if you are not conditioned, testing 1 RM is not advisable nor is it feasible for all exercises. One RM calculators offer a safer way to estimate the weight you can lift for a single repetition.

Another method to progressively overload for strength is to perform 10-15 repetitions of an exercise. Increase the weight load when you can complete 15 reps using good form through the full of motion. Do not increase weight loads more than 10% per week.

What happens if you do not work hard enough? You will make limited gains, progress more slowly, or simply maintain your fitness level.

What happens if you work too hard? Your progress can be compromised if your training intensity is too high. It is not necessary to work out until you are exhausted every day. In time, you could experience the effects of overtraining.

The Recovery Principle and the Variation Principle work in concert with the Overload Principle. To allow adequate recovery time, train 5-6 days per week for endurance and 3-4 days per week for strength. To prevent overtraining and to experience more rapid improvements, vary your workouts during each phase of training within a range that targets your goals.

How does the saying, No pain, no gain apply? Learn to distinguish between the "pain" of working hard and the "pain" of injuries. Overloading will result in normal training effects. Muscles will burn or become sore and stiff. You can continue to work through these effects of training. But you should work around muscle strains, joint sprains, and other structural injuries to allow them to heal.

The Overload Principle is a useful training tool, but your body's response to your total training load supersedes general training guidelines. You can make good training decisions by listening to your body and trusting your instincts about how to apply training principles.

Inaccurate Water Softener Reviews Can Ruin Your Whole Home

When a person is looking at water softener reviews, some factors that should be included in the decision for which review is the most accurate or will meet the needs of the household considering the review. When a person is looking a reviews it is important that the reviews contain the information that is relevant to one's needs. Many factors will need to be included in the decision for which type of water softener will meet a person's needs.

water softener salt

Affordability is a big concern for most people today. Some units are available for less than a hundred dollars through local discount stores and on the Internet. The price rises until one finds that there is a water softener that is available for over ,000. Setting the parameter of affordability is the first step to looking at any type of review seriously.

WATER SOFTENER

Knowing the type of water that is in the area where a person lives and seeing if the review addresses that water type. Some people live in areas that have terrible water and need softeners in order to drink and use the water. Other areas have excellent water quality and have little or no need for a water softener.

All of the water softener reviews will have a long list of the benefits of their products. It is important to sort out the benefits offered from the benefits that are actually needed. When a softener is selling for several thousand dollars to soften all of the water coming into a home it will not be a cost effective purchase for a vacation home that one spends a week at once a year.

There are many different types of systems available. Some are very small and hook up to a kitchen sink. Others are larger and hook up the hot water tank in a garage. Others, have connections throughout a home and all of the water coming into the home has been "softened."

One of the biggest pieces of information to check when looking at review are the chemicals used to soften the water. Some systems use organic materials that are not treated with any chemicals. Other systems are reliant on several chemical additives that remove the iron, etc., from the water.

When chemicals are listed on the review it is important to find out what those chemical do. There are many systems manufactured that use organic products to soften and purify the water that one drinks. These systems do not introduce any chemicals into the body through the water that they drink.

When reading reviews it is important to talk to individuals who have knowledge and expertise in these systems. They and can give details regarding a system that may not be shown in a review. These individuals will be able to assist a person in finding the type of water softener they need to meet their needs. They will also be able to assist in finding an affordable water softener system that may not have a great review, but can meet all of the requirements of the household effectively and efficiently.

Have you ever wondered what might be lurking in the tap water you drink everyday? Well if you do not know, fungi, bacteria and toxic metals are some of the things that may contaminate tap water. If you think of the safety of your family members, do invest in a water purifier.

SOFTENER

Types of purifiers

There are many types of water purifiers available in the market. Most homes use ionization filters, which attract contaminant particles using static electricity. However, ionizers are considered the most expensive kind of water purification system. A cheaper alternative is a charcoal filter. It uses ground charcoal to absorb the particles, thus cleaning the water.

Purified water

Purified water should taste clean, light and fresh. Some water purifiers however, remove important elements in water thus making it taste bland. An example of this of this is distillers. They tend to boil out the oxygen content and make the water taste bland. Despite this, it does not compromise the quality of the water but you should try your best to avoid distilled water if the bland taste bothers you.

Power saver

Water purifier must be efficient. It must also be energy efficient. Water purifiers should use up as little power as possible to filter a reasonable amount of water. Sometimes, the government rates these water purifiers for power efficiency. If you are looking for a water purification system, do look out for the government approval seal.

It is important to keep your family safe. It is also important that the water they are drinking is safe. Water is very important as it is one of the most essential factors ensuring the existence of life on earth. A major part of the human body is made up of water. It is necessary that we drink water that is free from impurities for a healthy life.

It is necessary to buy a water purifier as it makes the water from your tap safe for drinking. It is important to drink clean water as you would not fall sick easily. Therefore, if you are looking for a water purifier, make sure that you buy a power saving water purifier and one that suits your budget.

We had a water softener and we had a visit from some of our family members from the south east and they commented that our water was salty, my daughter could not believe it and I could not get my blood pressure to where the Dr. wanted it to be, needless to say, we knew we had a problem.

SOFTENER

The problem was we were use to it but they could taste it even with a reverse osmosis system under the sink for drinking and cooking water.

So we started using potassium chloride in place of salt but it was more costly, but my blood pressure went down!

I wrote this article in case some one out there has this same problem, as it does not give you any warning and if you do not know about the salt increase, then you would not do any thing to change it!

You would blame your high blood pressure on something else, especially is you are taking medicine and are checking your blood pressure several times a day.

Some times it is hard to believe something that tastes so good could be so harmful.

Jim McMahon, Ecologist Shares on Well Water and the Steps to Cleaner Water

In this article, Jim McMahon shares on well water and steps to cleaner water. Jim McMahon is and ecologist and founder of Sweetwater LLC.

water softener

Kevin: Now, we haven't talked about well water and a lot of people who I talk to about water and I don't know as much as you do, but I tell them some of these things and they say, "Well, I'm on well water and that's okay." So why don't you talk a little bit about some of the things that you can find in well water and how you can protect from those.

SOFTENER

Jim: Well water is a reflection of the land around the well. So well water can be terrific or it can be horrible. The Midwest of this country is known as the lymphoma belt because of the application of herbicides. Pretty soon, a couple of months from now, we're going to see those farmers out in the fields and they're going to be spraying, spraying, spraying. Then it's going to rain. That water's going to go down into the ground and it's going to carry all those herbicides and pesticides into those wells.

So it all depends and then I've got people in the Rocky Mountains. People test their well water and there's arsenic, there's lead, there's fluoride and guess what. How did we settle the Rocky Mountains? Miners came out here for minerals. So whatever is going on in the landscape around you is going to be reflected in the water. Remember, water's a universal solvent. It's going to be dissolving the soils or the rock that are around you.

Now, a lot of well water is really wonderful. A lot of well water is not. Taste is not a good indicator. You really should get a thorough test. I sell a test called, The Water Check. It test for 75 parameters for 7 and you can add herbicides and pesticides to that for another . Get a good profile of your well and then you know how to treat it.

Kevin: Right.

Jim: The other thing that happens is people might have a well and so they'll buy a water softener. They say I have a well, so I need a water softener. Until you test that water, you have no way of knowing whether you need anything or not. It's no different than the guy who goes into the store and buys one of these little pitcher filters and figures they're covered. You need to test your water and then put in the treatments that deal with the contaminants that you find.

Kevin: With the well water, should you be testing it once every five years, ten years or something like that?

Jim: It really isn't a time thing. People like to come up with time and so maybe five years, but really, I would look for changes in the watershed. You have an agricultural community that suddenly becomes suburban.

Kevin: Okay.

Jim: That's a common transition. While you may move from one set of problems to another, from herbicides to leaking septics with nitrate, or lawns are a very common source of herbicides, because like Chemlawn, who even thought of naming that company that, Chemlawn. They come in and spray, so you have this green lawn with nothing but bluegrass. Those chemicals are getting washed down into your well.

So I would look for changes in the landscape. New developments can affect your water. Is there a new industry around? Anything going on that might affect the water table.

Kevin: I remember you told me once about a family who had really high levels of uranium.

Jim: Yeah. I shouldn't laugh. I never heard back from that guy, but his family had discovered this after many years of not testing their well and people had been dying in the family. The family had grown up with this well and they'd been dropping like flies and nobody knew why and then finally they tested the well and it had very high levels of uranium.

Kevin: Wow.

Jim: Then this guy needed - and sometimes I'll tell people and of course, they don't take me seriously, but I'll tell people to move.

Kevin: Really?

Jim: There's certain things that you can't fix.

Kevin: Right, because that's not only in the water, but it's causing reactions with everything else.

Jim: Yeah. Radon is another. There are certain things and I've got a library on my website at http://www.cleanairpurewater.com/resource_library.html. I just have links to all these articles about different contaminants. One of them is a study by a group of scientists about the things that you shouldn't get any of.

Kevin: Oh, cool.

Jim: One of them is radon. I remember when radon came out, everybody was reacting. Here's the EPA. One more telling us now we can't breathe radon. Where's this coming from? Well, radon can be in water as well as your basement. If it's in your basement it may very well be in your water and just inhaling small bits of radon can be very dangerous.

Kevin: Yeah and in the northeast I think something that's very prevalent.

Jim: Yeah and again, it's easy to remove with a good whole house carbon filter, or you can aerate it. Another issue is this hydrogen sulfide, that rotten egg smell. For years people thought that is just an aesthetic concern and I get great customers. I had one guy whose daughters were insisting that he do something, because they would smell like that going to school.

Kevin: Wow.

Jim: Yeah. This guy was like, "I don't smell anything." So he's having this major social impact on their lives, but EPA has recently come out and said that in fact, hydrogen sulfide is not just an aesthetic concern, but is actually dangerous. We learn. As time goes by we learn.

Kevin: It's almost like we learn the things that we knew were bad for us anyway.

Jim: Yeah, intuitively.

Kevin: Right.

Jim: That's right.

Kevin: Say someone right now is listening to this call and they're interested in getting better water. What's the first and second step?

Jim: My opinion is the first thing you do is write down your goals in an unbiased setting. You write down what do you want. Do you want healthy water? Do you want water that tastes good? Are you concerned about mineral deposits that are building up on the shower doors? Because when you write down what your goals are that's going to drive your decision making later on.

I never make decisions for my customers. If some guy calls and he says, "Jim, all I care about is my wife is on my case about the marking on the shower doors." Then he needs a water softener. So sit down with the family, or the decision makers who are deciding what it is that you want to accomplish. Then, number two, look at your water report. See what's in the water. Then you can go to my guide or another location and say these are the things that I need to get out of the water. Here's the treatment I need and then go buy that treatment.

Kevin: One thing that I always talk about and something that we did with our water is that we got something that was sufficient with our budget at the time and then we upgraded and I think that's a good approach to take, too, if you are concerned about your water. Would you agree?

Jim: Yeah. A lot of people will buy these expensive filters in the grocery store. I won't name brand names, but they hook on the faucet, or there's a little pitcher. Those might be a good intermediate step. They are not a good long term step. The filters that hook on your faucet, just like a carbon filter without KDF, they've been shown to provide breeding grounds for bacteria. They can colonize and live on the surface. So now, all of a sudden you may be removing some chlorine, but you're actually drinking more in the way of bacteria. If you do that sort of thing, you've got to change them out really regularly and stay on top of it. So again, it seems cheap at first, but to do it right it's not.

Kevin: Here's a question that I wasn't even planning on asking. What about cleaning out the tubes? Is there any time that you need to flush the tubes with chlorine or bleach or something like that to get stuff out if there's organic material building up in the tubes?

Jim: Yeah and what I recommend that's in the manual of the Kitchen Defender is when you want to clean it, do it when you're changing the filters and go to the store and just buy some hydrogen peroxide at the grocery store, 99 cents. Take the canisters off. Fill each one up with a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. So you'll have three canisters full of hydrogen peroxide and then run that to the faucet and you can tell when the faucet is discharging hydrogen peroxide and then turn it off and let it sit for an hour or two and then just empty it out and put your new filters in.

Kevin: Got you.

Jim: That will clean out any organic build up. It does not have the toxic byproducts that bleach does.

Kevin: Right.

Kevin: What about different companies and looking at a company that you know you're going to be able to get a filter in five or ten years?

Jim: You mean longevity?

Kevin: Yes.

Jim: I think there's some validity to that. People still ask me if I'm still going to be in business and I tell them that I've got kids to put through college and I don't hide my manufacturer from anybody, so they can always go there if they couldn't find me. We're in an era where - this isn't filters, but Starbucks turned around and are closing stores, because people aren't going to pay .50 for a cup of coffee. I never would have guessed that six months ago.

Kevin: Right.

Jim: Never ever. Big companies are being acquired all the time. One of the equipment suppliers that I use was acquired by 3M, because 3M is looking at water. There's going to be a lot of consolidation in the water business I think. Companies may come and go. Technologies are going to change. So maybe I think you'll be able to get filters for your system. You could probably find something locally. It won't be as good as what you could get from me, because I use a unique set.

Kevin: Right.

Jim: The other thing, if you start dealing with me, in three years I may be saying Kevin, I'm thinking about ozone, or hydroxical radicals. I've got this thing that if we add this onto your system I think we're going to get a better level of protection and so we're going to watch the water business, watch our knowledge, watch the technologies and see what develops. So it's not stagnant. It's ever changing.

Kevin: I personally think it's nice to have someone hold my hand, because the amount of research, there are other people out there too, but 30 years of environmental research, come on. I don't have that and I'm researching everything else in terms of health and so it's very valuable to go to a person to and say this is what my water looks like, what do you think, what are your recommendations and then decide if it's a fit or not.

Make Money With Adsense Writing Articles

Making money with Adsense is all the rage now. And there are so many different ways to make money from Adsense But no matter what type of website you have, you must be displaying the Google ads, getting traffic and traffic that clicks on your ads to make any money.

flecktarn pants

So to help you along your way, here is a method you've probably not tried and most people probably won't as it does take effort and time. This will make it easier for you to be successful with it.

FLECK

You see, most people seem to want to keep switching from automatic software generators to bombs to portal sites to directory listing sites, which is fine, but the best way is to stick to creating unique content that's informative and of high quality.

This method is not the only way to make money with Adsense, jeez there are probably hundreds and hundreds and lots that we all have not even thought of yet. But as I said before I really feel that this is the best method for long term success, simply because it's been working well in different ways since I began Internet marketing a while ago.

What you need to do is create a site that has thousands and thousands of pages of content on all sorts of subjects and then you get your traffic for free via organic search engine searches, which is all well and good if you want to wait awhile, but this article is all about making money quickly.

Every page on your site should have an adsense box on it and that is how you will make your money.

Now, trying to write thousands of pages of content yourself before making any money would be difficult, you'd lose interest very very quickly and even if you tried to buy that much content would be lunacy.

Plus to build a publish a website with that much content would alert the search engines who would think you are spamming them.

I've always preferred to make money constantly even if the project is only half done or in progress. I find it gives me incentive to keep going.

So this is how you need to approach it.

1. Register a catchy domain name, something like fiveminuteguides.com or learnitnow.com

2. Start writing little 500 to 750 word action plans or checklist on all sorts of topics such as your favorite hobbies and other interesting topics.

3. Publish your website with your articles and remember to add your Adsense boxes, one in the middle and one of the right hand side.

4. So you've published your site up, you have a page up on a certain topic that had a fairly high search rate and Adsense payout rate, now what? How do you make money with this page.

Write articles! For every one fly fishing type checklist write 10 to 20 articles on all sorts of subjects to do with your topic.

But how do you get people from reading your article to going to your website?

Well, not only would you mention your site within your article, (slip it in humbly) you also have your article byline you can use for that purpose.

For example

"For a complete checklist for your first fly fishing trip visit blah.com"

or

"For a complete step by step checklist for catching large Trout visit blah.com"

So not only will you make money instantly from your website, you will also build tons of quality content over time and you will have hundreds maybe even thousands of articles all over the Internet working for you around the clock and your site will do a heck of a lot better in the search engines due to all the incoming links!

This is a very rough outline, but you smart people out there will be able to run with it and add new ideas I haven't even thought of. This is one of those money machines that will make you money on demand pretty much for the life of the Internet.

Water Softener - The 3 Biggest Problems of Using a Water Softener

A water softener is used to help eliminate ions such as calcium and magnesium found in tap water. These ions are beneficial to the body, but they can cause several household problems. Sediments often lead to formation of lime deposits that can clog pipes and shorten the life span of washing machines. Water filtration is often used to help go about this problem.

water softener cleaner

A good water filtration system functions by effectively producing filtered water that does not cause any buildup which can damage installed pipes and washing machines. Water filtration often occurs through the application of a reverse osmosis system. The system system applies pressure in a chamber that is enclosed with a membrane that allows pure water to go through while holding in larger molecules of calcium and magnesium ions.

WATER SOFTENER

As beneficial as water softening systems are to your pipes and washing machines, there are some problems that you may have to encounter. We will discuss these types of problems as we go along, and suggest some common and simple solutions that you can apply to help go around each issue.

WATER SOFTENER PROBLEM #1: SALINITY

Water softening often involves the use of salt. It is used to help attain osmotic pressure in water filtration systems that operate through the action of reverse osmosis. Salt often goes with the filtered water that is produced in the water softener. This can create complications if you are in a salt restriction diet, suffering from heart conditions or hypertension.

One way around this is using two pipes: one that leads to the water softener, the other one leading straight to another faucet. This way, the water that goes through the bypass pipe will not contain sodium. This unfiltered water can be safely used for drinking and cooking without causing sodium imbalance in your body. If you or other members of the family have salt issues, it would be better not to install a whole house water filtration system so that you have the ability to choose the type of water you would want to use for a specific purpose.

Another solution is to use potassium chloride to replace the salt used in the system. Although the compound is as effective as sodium chloride, it is quite expensive in comparison. It is still a form of salt, but the effects would be minimal.

WATER SOFTENER PROBLEM #2: INEFFECTIVE FILTRATION

Some occasionally find out that their water softener is not working properly. Bad water filtration can result from several issues. Before you call a professional, take some time to check your system to prevent unnecessary spending of money. One thing you should check is the tank. See if it has deposits that needs flushing. Also, check the salinity of your brine. Proper salt balance in a water softener is required in order for your filtration to be done properly. Different manufacturers require different salinity, which they often specify in the instructions manual. One last thing to check would be the regeneration frequency of your filter. There may be a need to increase the rate of regeneration in order for the water to be filtered effectively.

WATER SOFTENER PROBLEM #3: LOW BRINE FLOW

Brine flow is also a common issue with water filtration systems. If the brine flow of your system is unnatural, check several things before calling the manufacturer. First, flush out the brine line. Salt deposits may be clogging the line, impeding brine flow. Inspect the filter screen as well as the injector system for any problems and damages, and then replace them if necessary. Did you look at the pressure gauge for the brine line? Your water filtration system has a specific pressure that it needs to maintain for the brine to flow freely. You may have to check the manual as different companies have different pressure requirements.

Troubleshooting water softener problems is easy and can be done without having to contact a professional. Doing it manually is your best friend for maintaining your system. Although we may have given you solutions to your main problems, we still have to tackle those questions you want to ask regarding water filters. Understanding all the ins and outs of a water filter is essential if you are considering an investment in a water softener.

Picking The Best Water Softeners Based On Water Usage And Hardness Levels

Using the best water softeners can prevent expensive household problems such as clogged pipes and plumbing fixtures, dry skin and hair, stiff laundry, and cloudy glassware. These machines can make home appliances like shower heaters and coffee makers last longer and work more efficiently. They can also prevent ugly orange or brown residue from staining your bath tubs, sink and bathroom tiles.

water softener cleaner

All these problems are caused by too much calcium, iron and magnesium in your water. The ions in these elements cause water to become hard. To be able to select the best solution to eliminate hard water, you have to find out the hardness level of your household water. You can do this by calling in a water treatment company or testing your water yourself with a hard water test kit found at hardware stores.

WATER SOFTENER

Getting the right size is also an important factor in picking the best water softeners. The size of your water treatment system is determined by the amount of softening sodium beads you will need to effectively eliminate hard ions. This is calculated by balancing the level of your hard water number to the amount of sodium beads you need to swap the hard and soft ions.

It can be confusing to calculate the exact amount of softening ions you need but to cut the long story short, an average household consisting of 4 people will need about 32,000 grains of water softener. This is based on a water hardness level of 10 grains which is the average water hardness number in developed countries. Be aware though that the level of hard water may differ in various locations and water sources.

The best water softeners for specific households are also determined by personal habits of the home owners. So, one softening system may not be best for all types of people. Some people are better off getting an automatic recharging unit that recharges ions by time or by using a meter. This is convenient if you do not want to keep recharging the machine yourself. Other people with varying degrees of water usage are better off using a manual recharging softener.

Another factor that determines which softener is best is dictated by health issues. The most common and affordable type of softening system uses sodium to remove hard water. But sodium contains salt which can be bad for people with high blood pressure, a history of stroke, heart or kidney disease. For people with salt restricted diets the best water softeners would be potassium based softening systems.

Before purchasing a softening system for your home, it would be wise to consult with a professional water treatment company. This way, you won't risk buying the wrong kind of softener. The pros can gauge what types of softeners are best for each household based on an accurate hard water test and water usage habits of the home owners.
